Methodology

How The 7 Wonders counts, verifies and ages its records — written so you can argue with it.

What we publish

Only rules that resolve to an official authority: a government portal, a gazette, or an embassy/consulate notice. Each published value carries scope (nationality, residence, purpose), an effective window, the checked date, a named reviewer, a confidence level and the next scheduled review.

Passport access counts

Our index counts destinations reachable without a pre-departure consular visa: visa-free entry, visa on arrival, ETA and e-visa combined. Counts are compiled from official entry requirements and cross-checked against IATA Timatic data, then rounded to whole destinations. The index is a rolling audit — passports are published as they complete review, and the live count of covered passports is shown on the index page. We do not re-publish third-party proprietary scores.

Confidence levels

Stale records

When a record passes its next review date it degrades visibly: the badge changes, the checker attaches a warning, and the record cannot power transactional language until re-verified. Nothing quietly persists as "current".

What we refuse to do

We do not forecast rules, publish approval rates (no authority publishes them in comparable form), resell third-party index scores, or present an announced policy as an enforced one. The change log separates announced from in force on every row.

Corrections

Anyone can submit a correction from any record. Corrections are checked against the official source within five working days, the record is versioned, and acknowledged corrections appear in the change log.
